Hi, JEEPP.
Got to say that, tomorrow I'm going to give a talk in Springfield, for the morning essambly, feeling really nervous now. But I also on the other hand want to say that, I had finish my desgin on my SBM project and I wish to share with you guys.. But I'm not sure whether you guys want to see, so just let me know, and I will post the video. It's only about a 40 sec video.
Oh ya I want you guys to know what I'm going to say to Springfield too. Cause I want to share with you guys.. I really do hope that, the day I speech or anything, you guys are always there to hear me out. I'm really happy to have you guys as my friends.. Felt like saying all this today before I blog out. So this is how the speech is going to be..
Today I’m going to share with you about my experience in life.
I was always last in class in my Primary school, trying my best in my streaming year in P4, I managed to get promoted to EM2 in P5. In that particular year, video game came into my life. I wasn’t born smart or a fast learner or any other special ability I had. Studying wasn’t my interest, but playing was and that’s how video games took over me.
When I was P5, a friend of mine came over to my house and introduces me a game called “MAPLE STORY”. After downloading the game, create an account and all that. I started trying to play the game. After playing for a few days, it became a few weeks and soon it became months, and that’s when the year-end examination had arrived. My mum asked me why aren’t you studying, and I remember answering her “I’ve been studying in school, I will pass for sure”. But actually I was studying how I am supposed to train my maple character to become more powerful.
After the year-end examination, my result was out. After seeing it, I cried. Never would I’ve thought to enter the EM3 stream in P6. From there on, I started my best to limit my time for video games because I wanted to pass my PSLE.
I really had to try very hard to understand what my maths teacher was teaching about because maths was my weakest subject. After being through those suffering months of studying, I pass my PSLE. I was more than happy because I’m free from studying! Next I had to choose my Secondary school, and it was difficult for me because of my low score. But I manage to get into Springfield as my 1st choice.
My first year in Springfield, l felt nervous and scare as it was the first day of school but things became better as days and month passes. Common Test 1 was nearing, and I told myself not to be last again. And to my surprise, I was First in class. I was shocked. Don’t believe that it was real at all, it was my very first time I was first in class. I was so happy, I told my mum about it. But my place in class didn’t last long soon I position at 5th and then 9th. Told myself that I didn’t want to lose that place again, I fought hard in sec 2, I came in 2nd. Fought for another year I finally came in 1st in sec 3. Felt that my goal has completed, but wasn’t.
Sec 4 was a special year for me. It all happened when my friends and I was walking along the general office area to the canteen. Where I saw the notice board displaying the top 3 NT ‘N’ level results. I look at it for quite long till my friend asked me what I’m looking at. I remember it was a guy who scores 4 distinctions for his ‘N’ level and was place first. The first thing that came to my mind was I want to score better than him with more than 4 distinctions and place in first too. I really study very hard for it; I never give up, even though I don’t like studying. But because I know I want it badly, I just have to fight for it as hard as anyone out there.
‘N’ level examination soon started. I tried my best in all the papers and soon after a few weeks, the examination was over. On the day where we receive our result, the entire sec 4 NA and NT had to gather in the hall. Soon they started to announce the Top 3 students in the NA and next it was NT. Starting from the 3rd position, and soon they finally announce for the TOP student for NT. I heard my name with a score of 6 distinctions. I was shocked, I never expected to get 6 distinction, I was shocked till my face didn’t seems to have expression coming out.
Life in Springfield had changed me in many ways. Ways that I never expected to reach, lead me there.
Springfielders, you all can achieve greatly too, I believe that if you have that will in mind you can do it, without giving up.
